For cleaning scale from dishwasher, simply spray inside the machine and leave for 10 to 30 minutes.

BARRIES NOTES
In regards to using Exit as a general cleaner.
You are quite correct in that this is something that we would not normally recommend. Exit is quite a strong acidic product designed to remove heavy lime and scale build-up, which it does effectively.
There are two key reasons for not using this as a general cleaner….
– the first being that while this product would clean stainless steel very well, other surfaces like concrete and tile grout would be damaged over time, due to the fact these surfaces are based on components similar to lime-scale. Also I would have concerns around some tiles reacting and staining or even melteca / formica getting marks.
-secondly and even more important is the safety issue – this is a stronger chemical than I would normally recommend for this purpose and there are formulated cleaners (eg Our Bath and Shower Product) that have lower acid content (or are neutral) and with more detergent for cleaning. There is also the inherent risk of a chlorine bleach product coming into contact with any acid based product and producing chlorine gas (potentially with serious health consequences) .
I am aware that of the lime problems in the Alexandra water and a slightly acidic product will be needed from time to time, especially where water flows and is allowed to dry on a surface. This would not be the case of floors and benches etc.
