BARRIES NOTES
Peracetic acid – our product Hydroxitane. Class 5 oxidizer , very effective against everything. Use as a one percent solution mainly in enclosed pipework systems. Very fumey to handle , full protective gear needed as it can cause unpleasant skin burns (like peroxide) these are white and keep coming back after rinsing (generally these will be completely gone the next day).
Common use in wine and beer industry as final rinse products are water and weak acetic acid so no issue with residues being harmful to product. Some company’s use as the sanitize step in laundry (instead of bleach or peroxide). We do not currently use it for this but have done previously. Toll Blenheim use a lot for wine transport tanks.
