Barrie asked me to send through pricing on the 58mm Press-Fit Vented caps that we stock. As discussed, our current stock does not have TE bands but any new stock will have the TE bands.
I had a look through your orders and noticed that when you got 500 PTFE vents you also had 500 SRM vents done, on PO 13544 in April. Were these for two different products? Is there any chance they could have been mixed up?
I will have a look through the quality control records for your order too. It would also be worthwhile for me to look at some samples of caps that have failed, if you’re able to get any back. I would like to see if I can identify why they are leaking.
Barrie has confirmed that the containers are filled leaving a 20-30mm head space, they are tip-tested after filling so you know the caps are on correctly and they are transported upright. This covers off the common reasons for leaking vents. The other most common reason is that the vent is not compatible with your product. In theory PTFE should be correct but in some cases we find that SRM is necessary. It would be wise to move to the Press Fit Vent caps as they are a higher spec vent.
Please let me know if you would like samples of the 58mm vented caps for testing. I will let you know when we have some coming with the TE band.

Yes, it’s a complete unit. The vent is pressed into a spigot on the underside of the cap. With this type of vented cap there’s no need for you to send us caps for venting as we’ll be holding the stock of the finished product.
