High flash Kerosene, a safer option that will not ignite, for the use of Bitumen (Asphalt) cutback or parts wash.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
In Australia it is now mandatory to use high-flash point products for health and safety reasons. Whilst not yet a legal requirement in New Zealand, it is a practical step in health and safety management as it is an important issue. There are three categories of cutback bitumen standard cut, medium cut and rapid cut . Standard and Medium cut use kerosene. It is a high flash point hydrocarbon solvent that is extensively used in degreasing formulations and is ideal for parts baths due to its low evaporation rate and high flash point. It is a proven solvent extraction diluent in base metal mines.
