10KG OXALIC ACID

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

• A powerful acid that can be used to treat oxide stains such as rust or aluminium stains however it requires careful handling.

USES

• Removing iron stains in laundry (For fixing not prevention, correcting iron stains - Use oxybleach for prevent. If alot of iron staining increase oxy bleach).Used as pre soak 1:10 solution (note: Constant use will deposit minerals in machine when reasts with hard water).
   
• Remove rust stains from concrete etc
  Method One
  1. Wet area to be cleaned ( a very small amount of dish detergent may help , but not essential)
  2. With care spinkle a small amount of the oxalic acid crystals on the staining and work in with a broom or deckscrub.  Hard scrubbing should not be necessary.
  3. Leave wet for 15- 20 minutes and re- broom.
  4. Hose away after another ten minutes (times are not critical and are suggestions only)
  5. Repeat if necessary
  6. Using lighter applications and repeating – is preferable to using a larger amount of chemical and trying to do the job all at once.
  Method Two
  1. Make a 10% solution and use as above
   
• Treating water bores high in iron
   
• Controlling veroamite in bee hives.
  We have bee Keepers using this for controlling veroamite in hives . Our grade is suitable (note the 0.001 on the heavy metals is basically saying that these are below the normal detection limits , and not meaning that there is that much in there)

WARNINGS

• OXALIC ACID is very toxic and is corrosive class 8 for handling (but not for transport).
• It is not for use at home, only for commercial users who must keep it out of reach of children.
• Natural fibres, wood, steel, aluminium, acetates, Terylene, polycottons and viscose are unaffected by OXALIC ACID.
• Nylon may be attacked so if the use of OXALIC ACID cannot be avoided use a more dilute solution for short periods only.
• Stainless steel, nickel, chrome, anodised surfaces, glass, and ceramic surfaces may be dulled or etched by Rust Remover.

SAFETY

• Gumboots
• Plastic apron
• Prevent people walking across the area whilst product is in use
• Never allow this product to come in contact with bleach or chlorine. (toxic fumes)
• This product is an acid, although not as aggresive as some of the stronger acids – it should still be treated with care

PRECAUTIONS 

• Store in original container.
• Do not mix with other chemicals.
• Rinse container when finished, recycle where possible.
• Keep out of reach of children

FIRST AID

• Ingestion: drink 1-2 glasses of water. Seek medical advice. Do not Induce vomiting. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious or convulsing patient.
• Skin Contact: rinse with cold water for 15 minutes and seek medical advice if irritation persists.
• Eye contact: flush with cold water for 15 minutes and seek medical advice if irritation persists.
• Inhalation: remove from further exposure. Seek medical advice if discomfort continues.
• Spillage: contain spillage with absorbent and dispose in accordance with local regulations.
